HERI Diverse Learning Environments (DLE)


In the spring of 2016, VCU participated in the DLE for the first time. While this survey is typically administered to students in their sophomore and junior years, VCU used the survey to capture the perceptions of students of all degree levels about VCU’s campus climate. The survey measures campus climate (e.g., experiences with discrimination, cross-racial interactions, and sense of belonging), educational practices (e.g., curriculum of inclusion, student support services, and co-curricular diversity activities), and student outcomes (e.g., integration of learning, social action, and civic engagement)
